The investment management of the Norwegian ‘Oil Fund’ from a human rights perspective
Children with a migration background left behind abroad
Oslo Research and Oslo Economics have been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Education to survey the extent of children with a migration background who have been left behind in their parents’ country of origin and to assess how local government authorities respond to their situation. The project is part of the Government’s Action Plan to Combat Negative Social Control, Forced Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation.
EFFECT: Cross-national Polish–Norwegian project on work–life balance
Work–life balance among among Polish and Polish-Norwegian couples (in cooperation with Norwegian Social Research (NOVA) and the Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine, Poland). Funded by the Polish-Norwegian Research Programme under the EEA Grants/Norway Grants funding scheme.
Care in the Nordic welfare states
Oslo Research (ORES), the Department of Social Sciences and Business at Roskilde University (Denmark) and the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku (Finland) have received a grant from the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Gender Equality Fund for a research network on care in the Nordic welfare states.
Animal abuse and interpersonal violence
In 2013 Margunn Bjørnholt carried out the first study in Norway on the connection between animal abuse and interpersonal violence on behalf of the Norwegian Animal Protection Alliance. The study resulted in the PSR Report Kvinnemishandling og dyremishandling: To sider av samme sak? [Violence against women and animal abuse: Two sides of the same coin?]
